Requirement
Application for taking orders and configure windows. Wide range of available products. Facility for price change. Visual window configuration. Complex questions dependencies. On-line orders and basket handling. Price and orders edit available through web-based tool. Auto generated documents like invoices and delivery tickets.
Solutions
Main issue was visual window configuration. We achieved it by using Flash as the client application. Flash front end fulfilled all the requirements including dependencies and dynamic price calculation.
The implementation of the application for different data presentation while retaining the look & feel was accomplished by explicitly separating the design from the application logic. Business logic was implemented server side for easy product and price modifications.
Technology
Fronted is Flash a application enriched with ActionScript 2.0 and contains complex design logic. The server side PHP script is responsible for application logic and communication with a MySQL database. Information exchanged between application layers is stored as XML data. An administration Panel was implemented in PHP. Invoice and delivery tickets are generated as PDF documents.
